| In most cities, painting the town red means having a good time with drinks and food. In D.C., it means we're coming close to a fiscal cliff and keeping the nation's balance sheet in the red. Let's take off our federal hats and go for broke with fun through this Adventure: an exclusive paintball experience with barbecue, beer, and cornhole.We'll meet at Pev's Paintball in Aldie, Virginia. Hop on the shuttle that leaves from 918 F Street on select Saturdays (for an additional $30) and score a free pair of Pivot Incase headphones to jam out to your own warrior soundtrack. Or, snag a ride with some pals; no matter how you get there, our team of warriors will be on hand to make sure your frontline strategies are sound. After a brief safety tutorial and the distribution of equipment—paintball marker, unlimited air refills, mask andgoggle, air tank, and 200 paintballs—we'll take to our private fields—complete with refs—in assigned teams and run various combat scrimmages like Team Deathmatch, Capture The Flag, King Of The Hill, and a final Battle Royal.With our trigger finger thoroughly fulfilled, we'll put our crosshairs on delicious meats catered by Jimbo's BBQ. Look forward to pulled pork barbecue, buns, coleslaw, and veggie burgers. We'll also each receive tickets to use for two beers or two glasses of red or white wine; all additional drinks are $2. We can wind down even more at the barbecue with outdoor games like cornhole—capping off a fun outing with no subcommittee hearing required. |
