You'll do a whole lot more than just blow smoke with this Adventure: a two-hour summer barbecue making and bourbon tasting class.Head to LivingSocial 918 F Street to check in with our team of pitmasters who will be waiting. Once we've arrived, we'll head to the state-of-the-art test kitchen, where the bourbon master from Smoke and Barrel—Adams Morgan's newest barbecue joint and whiskey bar—will warm us up with a freshly made whiskey cocktail and the restaurant's famous grit cakes. Next, we'll watch a demo in brining ribs before receiving a hands-on lesson by the executive chef in how to make our own barbecue sauce and dry rub (both ours to take home at the end of the class), as well as collard greens and jalapeño grits.Once we've covered the art of country barbecue, we'll marinate our taste buds with pre-cooked samples of the menu items we watched the chefs demo (barbecue ribs, collards, and grits) before turning our attention to a different kind of sauce: an informative flight of three unique handcrafted bourbons provided by select craft distillers.
