| Our city's seasoned diplomats know that U.S.-Mexico relations are forged on the strength of our countries' shared heritage, democratic values, and healthy appetite for a good party. Raise a glass to our fiesta-fueled fraternity with this Adventure for Cinco de Mayo, an epic seven-hour party in the heart of DC to celebrate this Mexican holiday, with live music (including two sets from DC's own The Dance Party), DJs, drink specials, Mexican food, and an outdoor patio party.We'll start by checking in at The Park at Fourteenth—one of DC's hippest event spaces—anytime from noon to 3 p.m. on May 5, where LivingSocial staff will be on hand throughout the day. Our thirst for fun will be quenched right from the start, as all four floors of the club will be decked out with Cinco de Mayo-themed décor and rocking with live music and DJs.From noon until around 3 p.m., performances by DJ EPX and a mariachi band will serve as an aperitif, while we toss back authentic Mexican fare from a buffet of quesadillas (chicken or cheese), beef empanadas, Mexican rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, and tortilla chips. Next, the event's feature band, The Dance Party, will pour it on with two 30- to 45-minute sets.Guests are encouraged to get into the flow with flip-flops, Mexican party favors, sombreros, and beach attire (complimentary LivingSocial sunglasses will help top off our outfits). To ensure our glasses are never half empty, we'll each get a drink ticket for one Corona Rita (Coronita plus margarita). Drink specials (including $5 Corona beers and $20 Corona buckets) will also be available throughout the event—a sure-fire way to put a refreshing spin on a traditional celebration with a party that's sure to be good to the last drop. ¡Salud! |
