| For all of the important work that's done in the District, the city often feels more like a circus than a power center: We've got elephants and donkeys, pageantry, and more than our fair share of clowns. It's one reason why finding someone special can be as difficult as a high wire act. Get into the swing of things with a little help from Date Nights DC and this Adventure: an evening of trapeze swinging and other aerial acrobatics for you and a friend (or more than a friend) in revitalized Southeast DC.Grab your best circus guest and parade over to the beautiful new Yards Park, where our troupe of ringmasters will be waiting to help us take to the skies. Once we arrive, we'll receive a hands-on lesson in three distinct forms of aerial artistry from the expert instructors at the Trapeze School of New York - Washington, DC. We'll receive a brief safety tutorial and then take to the skies for this three-in-one class where we'll learn the fundamentals of not only the flying trapeze, but also aerial silks and partner balancing. That means 2.5 hours of soaring through the air on the flying trapeze; turning into human ropes as we wrap ourselves in two long pieces of fabric (think: Cirque du Soleil); and spending some terra firma time learning tricky partner balancing acts.After showing our sweethearts this top-notch experience, we're due for some ground time. We'll each receive a take-home date night basket filled with loads of LivingSocial swag, including a Date Nights DC picnic blanket, sunglasses, candy hearts, and more to ensure our high-flying night continues even after class ends.
