Deal Name: Christmas Day Chinese Food, Movies + Beer at Sixth and I
Comments: The Jewltide season is upon us, which means you politely pass along the pork loins at the holiday party and hog the garden salad until you dash home for the Kedem-brand gefilte. This Adventure lets you eat to your heart's content without any trepidation: a Christmas day kosher Chinese dinner with movies and adult beverages at the 6th and I Historic Synagogue. The shul will open its doors at 1 p.m., giving us prime access to this revered turn-of-the-century place of worship. Joining us will be a team of Koufax-loving and Barbara-swooned mavens of Jewltide cheer. Choose one of three showtimes and enjoy immediate access to the all-you-can-eat kosher East Asian feast by Royal Dragon, with General Tso's chicken, beef and broccoli, and vegetable lo mein, all served buffet style. Once we've filled our bellies, we'll take in a trio of films that will be screened at various locations through out the temple, brought to us by Metro Technical Services.Choose from either Spaceballs, the hilarious Mel Brooks-directed Star Wars send up, on at 2 p.m.; The Princess Bride, which is on at 5 p.m.; or The Big Lebowski, on at 8 p.m., will guide us through the conclusion of this Shomer Christmas. We'll also get silly Simchat Torah-style sampling three kosher beers by Shmaltz Brewing Company, a chosen beer for he-brews known for its Ales and IPAs. After all, after a Chanukah of Tzedakah, you can treat yourself a bit to a schmooze or two.
